Policies

Payments

To provide the best possible outcomes, I require commitment to a full training plan. Payment may be paid in full or via a payment plan of half up front and the remainder halfway through the purchased package. The first payment is due within one week of receiving your invoice in order to secure your scheduled lessons.

Providing high-quality and effective services requires commitment on the part of both the trainer and the client. Packages must be completed within four months from the date of your first lesson. Should you choose to cancel your training package after training begins, you are responsible for paying your entire package fee. Fees paid are non-refundable.

The cost of training plans can be found on my website at www.wonderdog.training/services. I may change my fees and policies without prior notice, and those changes will be reflected on the website.

Cancellations & Rescheduling

Training plans are strategically and intentionally designed and scheduled to achieve the best possible outcomes over a specified timeframe. Therefore, cancellations are not recommended and will not be refunded except in case of extenuating circumstances beyond the Client’s control and at the Trainer’s sole discretion. Make-up sessions can be scheduled and will be billed at a rate of $110/hour. To avoid the loss of fees and training progress, please schedule carefully and prioritize our lessons. I want to see you succeed!

Should COVID, inclement weather, or other unpredictable circumstances make training in person impossible or unsafe, I reserve the right to make adjustments, including the option of moving your scheduled training session(s) online to protect your training progress, my schedule, and the ability to serve you and others. Online training has proven to be an effective and powerful modality. Such changes in service method are not grounds for cancellation, postponement, or refund.

Aggression & Bite Disclosure

It is your responsibility to accurately and fully complete all registration/intake information, including disclosing your dog’s aggression and/or bite history, at the time of registration. Failure to disclose aggression or a bite history risks the cancellation of your package without a refund.

Proof of Vaccinations

For the health and safety of your dog and others, your dog must be up-to-date on all vaccinations as recommended by your veterinarian. I require you to submit proof of vaccinations before your first lesson. Please email your records to [email protected]

Expectations

Dog behavior is dynamic and always changing. I provide the most up-to-date training and positive reinforcement methods, and work closely with you and your dog to impart animal behavior knowledge that best fits your needs as well as your dog's needs. Behavior modification and training takes time, consistency, and commitment. You play a very important role in practicing and continuing to reinforce behavior that has been learned through training. Behaviors are not static, and dogs will not continue to perform even trained behaviors without ongoing practice, especially in cases involving any type of aggression or reactivity.

To protect your training progress, you must commit to doing your part in implementing training and management as directed. Although behavior may be modified, dogs are never considered “cured.” Your dog’s behavior and/or interaction with humans and other animals is ultimately your responsibility. I will make every reasonable effort to help you attain your goals, but can make no guarantees of performance on the part of you or your dog(s).

Outcomes

Consistency is the key to a successful training plan. Therefore, your dog’s success is contingent upon your own willingness to handle and/or work with your dog as instructed. You are being taught to train your dog and without cooperation, as well as consistent reinforcement, your dog will not get trained. You are ultimately responsible for your dog’s final outcome, and I am here to guide you along the way!

Training Methods & Equipment

Lessons are taught with a focus on positive reinforcement using force-free methods. Therefore, the use of verbal and physical punishment and aversive equipment, such as choke, prong, pinch, or electronic collars (whether they provide vibration or shock), is not permitted. You are responsible for purchasing all equipment recommended for your dog’s training sessions.

Management Plans

I will provide you with a management plan for you and your dog.  Following your management plan is critical to both your safety and your training success. Failing to do so risks the cancellation of your package without a refund. If you have trouble staying with your management plan, I urge you to let me know immediately so we can work together to find a solution. My ability to help you reach your goals and experience true relief is severely limited without this teamwork.
